[ARRIVE TOGETHER PILOT PROGRAM]
Every evening at 8pm for two weeks starting on {t:1780880400:F}, I will stop for five minutes to arrive in the present moment and I’d love you to try this with me.
Arrival isn’t somewhere you go – it’s somewhere you already are. The ocean is always at the shore, whether you’re aware of it or not. You don’t travel to it, you acknowledge it and take a dip in it.
This isn’t about acquiring a skill – it’s about establishing a home. Somewhere that was always there, that you’re learning to return to. Each time you return, the way becomes more familiar. Easier. Faster. Available to you in any moment, in any conditions, for the rest of your life.
The sessions are the scaffolding. The home is yours to keep.
Three arrivals per week. Between 5-15 minutes each (at your discretion) — the ask is that low on purpose.
As you read through this, really try it on for size: try imagining you’ve already said yes. You don’t have to mean it.

[WHAT IS IT]
Arrive Together is one of several real-time gatherings I’m building — different containers for people to spend actual time together in various ways that foster connection and collaboration. Each one requires you to show up. None of them can be consumed passively.
This one is about presence. Five minutes, every evening — a deliberate act of gathering in an era when gathering is quietly going out of fashion.
Think of the present moment as a lake. Always reflecting. In still water, you see the mountain perfectly. In choppy water, the mountain is still there — you just can’t read it yet. The practice isn’t about summoning anything. It’s about letting the water still.
[BEFORE YOU BEGIN — THE ORIENTATION]
The first session on June 7 is the orientation. About 30 minutes, with time for questions — I’ll explain the system and why each piece fits together. We’ll arrive together at least once during it, probably before you realize that’s what we’re doing. After that, sessions run their normal 5 minutes (plus the surrounding 10 minutes of support/scaffolding, should you choose to participate).
[HOW EACH SESSION WORKS]
Every evening at 8pm, we gather. Between five and fifteen minutes, at your discretion:
[WHAT TO EXPECT AT FIRST]
When you arrive for the first time, it might feel like a wreck inside. Noisy. Restless. Cluttered with the day, the guilt about being here at all.
That’s accurate perception — not failure.
Imagine a cathedral left unattended for years. When you walk in, you don’t see the cathedral. You see the disrepair — dust, clutter, merchants who moved in while no one was watching. The practice is not building the cathedral. It was always there. The practice is clearing the rubble.
Stay with it.
[WHAT YOU’RE ACTUALLY BUILDING]
You’re not accumulating a skill. You’re establishing a “place”.
A home in the present moment — interior, location-independent, yours. It goes with you because it was never outside you.
What keeps people coming back is not discipline. It’s returning to water a plant they put in the ground before. The soil is still turned. Coming back after a long week is not starting over.
The explicit goal of Arrive Together is your graduation from it — for me to become obsolete.
[WHY TOGETHER]
Something happens when you know other people are doing this at the same moment. Psychologists call it body doubling — the presence of others, even silently, changes what’s possible. Practitioners call it congregation — shared intention that amplifies what each person brings.
Not accountability. Not instruction. More like the shared weight of a room where everyone knows the music is good.
Presence is easier when someone else makes it real with you. You can arrive on your own time. But try showing up together.
[THE MINIMUM ASK]
Five minutes. At least three times a week — six sessions over the two weeks.
Sessions run every night whether you’re there or not. Come every night if you want. Come three times a week. Come less if that’s all you can manage — if you only arrive once in your life, I believe that’s better than never arriving at all.
This is not a practice you can fail. Don’t track your attendance. Don’t let a missed day become a reason to stop. Your only metric: how does arriving feel?
[PREPARING TO ARRIVE]
The biggest obstacle isn’t presence — it’s the moment before, when someone needs you and continuity pulls harder than arrival.
The on-ramp: Decide in advance what you’ll say. Not an explanation — just a plan: “I won’t be available for the next fifteen minutes.” Pre-decide it before you need it.
If you’re resisting: Use the minutes before arrival to name why — out loud, or written down. You’re not trying to convince yourself. The mind that’s been heard is more likely to sit down.
The off-ramp: The optional writing after arrival is a slow re-entry. Or design your own.
[WHEN THOUGHTS COME]
They will. That’s not failure — that’s the practice.
Imagine your mind as a precocious, curious toddler who wants to ask questions. It’s not wrong to want to ask. It’s just not the moment. So you say, gently: “Come join me, I’m doing this arrival thing right now.”
Not suppression. An invitation to come along.
[WHAT THIS ACTUALLY IS]
Most of us have become “meditators” — accumulated the identity, the app, the streak. We’ve turned presence into a credential.
Arrive Together is not asking you to become anything. The game frame is deliberate: you use it to cross the river, then leave it at the shore. You were never supposed to carry it.
What you find after the clearing — after the merchants are gone and the water has stilled — was always there.
You are not building a cathedral. You are returning to one that was always yours.
Revealed, not created. Carved from the marble.
[FAQ]
What platform is this on?
Google Meet. You’ll get a link before the first session — no account required, works in any browser.
Do I need to show my face?
No. Camera is completely optional. You can join with video on, audio only, or simply be present. The presence that matters here isn’t visible.
What if I miss the orientation?
I’ll send you the recording. Watch it before your first session and you’re caught up. No makeup sessions, no waiting.
What if I miss days?
Miss them. Sessions run every night whether you’re there or not — there’s nothing to catch up on and nothing to apologize for. The practice doesn’t break when you’re absent. Your only metric is how it feels when you come back.
[BUILT IN PUBLIC]
This practice is being built in public, and you’re invited to be part of building it.
This isn’t a finished product handed down from someone who’s already worked it all out. Most practices arrive fully formed — someone figured them out, packaged them, handed them down. That model produces people who know how to follow a practice, not people who know how to arrive. What I’m interested in is something that develops through the people inside it, where your actual discoveries shape what it becomes.
If you want to be part of that: share what you notice after sessions — what’s working, what isn’t, what the practice asked of you. That feedback comes to me and shapes where this goes. But arriving is the whole thing. The feedback is an optional layer, and it’s entirely up to you whether you take it on.

I’m not curating this list. I’m sending it to everyone I think might want this and letting it find who it’s for. If there’s anyone you think would be interested please pass forward this along to them. If that’s you — even if you’re skeptical, especially if you’re skeptical — I’d love to have you there.
